Hot Cross Biscuits

A biscuit twist on a traditional Easter favorite.

Materials

  • 2 pkg Morrison Bis-Kits Mix-
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup candied citrus and candied cherries, chopped
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  • Preheat over to 400°F.
  • Pour milk into a medium mixing bowl. Add biscuit mix, sugar, spices, candied fruit and raisins.
  • Mix with large spoon for about a minute, or until liquid is absorbed. Do not overwork dough.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop mixture with an ice-cream scoop onto prepared sheet.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
  •  In a small bowl, wisk together 2 Tbsp. milk and 1/2 cup confectioners sugar. Whisk until sugar is dissolved.
  • Drizzle icing over top of slightly warmed biscuits.
