Spoon Bread

Down-home Southern spoonbread has never been so easy.

  • 4 cups milk
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup Morrison's Yellow Cornmeal
  • 4 each eggs, beaten


  • Preheat oven to 450°F. Lightly grease 8 x 8 inch baking dish.
  • Scald milk.
  • Add butter, salt and Morrison Yellow Cornmeal.
  • Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until the mixture has the thickness of custard. Let cool.
  • When ready to use, fold 4 eggs (well beaten) into the cooled cornmeal mixture.
  • Spread evenly in prepared baking dish.
  • Bake for 25 minutes.
