Sweet Pretzel Cookies

Instead of the classic round cookie, these yummy cookies have a unique "twist".

  • eggs
  • sugar
  • lard
  • Peter Pan Flour
  • baking powder
  • cinnamon, ground
  • nutmeg
  • cloves
  • egg yolk
  • milk


  • Preheat over to 400°F.
  • Cream the sugar and lard together. Agg eggs, one at a time.
  • Mix all dry ingredients together and add to the sugar/lard/egg mixture until just combined.
  • Roll approximately a tablespoon worth of dough into a "snake" and then form into the traditional pretzel shape. Place onto a cookie sheet.
  • Combine together the egg yolk and the milk.
  • Before baking, brush the pretzels with the egg yolk and milk mixture.
  • Bake for 6 - 8 minutes.
  • Transfer cookies to a wire rack and allow to cool.
